The day to day running of Mab’s Cross Community Primary School is managed by the Head Teacher, and the strategic direction is overseen by the Governing Body. Governors can be parents, local authority representatives, members of the local community and are joined by the Head Teacher and elected members of staff.

The three core functions of the Governing Body are:

• To ensure that the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school are clearly defined
• To ensure that the headteacher performs their responsibilities for the educational performance of the school
• To monitor the sound, proper and effective use of the school’s financial resources.

The Governing Body meets twice each term, and members also visit throughout the year to ensure they have a good understanding and knowledge of the school.
