A Courtyard of a House in Delft by Pieter de Hooch

2023-2024

During this project, the children were tasked with responding to Pieter de Hooch's 1658 painting, 'A Courtyard of a House in Delft'. As part of the project, members of the National Gallery visited our school to conduct research with both staff and children on how best the gallery could support schools in their art learning as part of the project. Responses from these workshops were included in the Teacher Guides provided by the gallery to participating schools. In keeping with the context of the painting, each class explored the local area, taking on an architectural walk to photograph features which are in parallel with those shown in the work.

For the sixth consecutive year, artwork from our school was both shortlisted and selected for exhibition as part of the gallery's summer trail across various locations in London.
