Year Six - Mrs Housley & Mrs Smith

Welcome to Year 6,

It doesn’t seem that long since your child was starting school for the first time, and we are delighted to have the privilege of teaching them in this final year of primary school.

Our names are Mrs Housley and Mrs Smith, and we will be teaching your child. We hope to provide the children with all the skills that they will need to be successful learners and to make the important transition to secondary school. In our classroom, we create a safe and calm learning environment which enables all children to become confident learners.

This year’s topics include Frozen Kingdom (studying the Arctic and Antarctic), Revolution (learning about the Victorian era) and Hola Mexico (comparing the UK to Mexico).

We encourage all children to be kind and respectful members of our class and to set an excellent example to younger children in our school community.

Homework will be set weekly, which includes: the Reading Challenge, spellings and maths. We aim for children to become more independent at this stage in their school journey when completing homework activities and foster a love of reading. We hope parents support us fully in their children’s homework.

If you have any concerns or questions, please contact us via Edulink. For general enquiries, please contact the school office. Information will also be provided via Class Dojo, newsletters, the school website and Edulink.

We look forward to working with you and your child at this most important stage in their education.

Kind Regards

Mrs Housley and Mrs Smith
