Year Four - Mr Meaden

Dear Parents,

I am delighted to welcome you and your child to an exciting new school year at Mabs Cross Primary School. My name is Mr Meaden, and I will be your child’s Year 4 teacher this year. I am looking forward to a wonderful journey of learning, growth and discovery with your child.  We are very lucky in year 4 to have some incredibly experienced and knowledgeable teaching assistants - Mrs Rudd, Mrs White and Mrs McGivern. We will work as an efficient and coherent team to ensure your child enjoys their time in year 4.

I have worked in the education sector for over 5 years, and I have a genuine passion for fostering a love of learning in my students. I aim to make sure lessons are positive, engaging, inclusive and fun, making sure that each day your child will feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

It is my belief that interactive, meaningful and exciting experiences help to produce memorable learning that will stay with your child. Our classroom will focus on respect, responsibility and teamwork. I will strive to make sure that our class is a safe and supportive environment, where children will feel confident to take risks, raise questions and have time to explore key concepts and ideas.

Your child’s homework day is on Friday, with the expectation that this is returned completed by the following Friday. If children return their homework early, they will be rewarded with Dojo points.

In year 4, children are expected to always be respectful to other pupils and staff and it is also an expectation that children are kind to one another whilst acting in a responsible manner.

Your support in helping to achieve this is vital, and I am available to be contacted by telephone or via Edu link. I am contactable from 8am until 5pm, Monday to Friday. I will try to respond as soon as I can to queries or concerns.

There are many ways that you can support your child’s learning, from reading with your child at home to volunteering in class or at school events. Please get in contact if this is something you are interested in - we always welcome extra hands!!

I am excited to meet your child and getting to know you both. I believe that together we can have a fantastic year full of progression, positive memories and success! Thanks for your continued support.

Best regards

Mr Meaden
